As Maritime Rescue in the mediterranean has become a civilian responsibility, NGOs like Sea-Watch are faced with the logistical challenge of operating increasingly large vessels and crews. Naturally, computer systems are used for that.
This talk aims to highlight the technical and social challenges encountered when running a NGO rescue vessel on (mostly) open-source software.
